I'm a photographic artist from Sheffield, UK. (b.1959)

As a primarily self-taught artist, my practice is strongly influenced by the knowledge I acquired through self-directed study and my professional experience creating and designing contemporary furniture.

I work from home in a relatively modest space that shares the workshop I built over twenty years ago. I have photographed here for over a decade and have developed a deep appreciation of the challenges of this limited floor space.

My practice focuses on my poetic play of the photographic image, blending false ideas with entertaining truth-telling. I’m particularly interested in creating semi-abstract pictures on which I like reflecting. Although the photographs incorporate a sense of freedom, they still refer to a specific task which seems more interesting.
